About Lolly Kicks

Heya All, This blog is dedicated to shits and giggles. It'll mostly feature photos and artwork I make as I kick around Seattle and  whatever travels I take. It might also feature a how-I-did that post or two or LOL kitten pic every now and then. I'll try to post once a month, maybe more often.

This blog is named after lolly kicks with a reference to LOL cats. Lolly Kicks are social dance pattern featured in swing dances, especially Bal-Swing. The basic pattern is, 'kick-step, kick-step', with the couple pivoting around follow, or traveling in a line.  But the most common variation is, 'kick-step away from each other, tap-step towards each other', this minimizes the chance of the couple kicking each other. In Bal-Swing, the lead will use the follow as a focus to pivot around. This allows the follow a wide range of footwork variations to play with, as there doesn't have to be weight shift due to the couple traveling. Lolly kicks are a fun, intimate and simple pattern that allows both the lead and follow a lot play.
